A recent vote in the U.S. House of Representatives revealed the
deadly irrationality of abortion rights ideology, as 161 Democrats and 7
Republicans voted to continue to allow the deliberate and systematic
destruction of developing baby girls. The vote against a long-overdue ban on gender
selection abortions, which overwhelmingly end the lives of disfavored girls
before birth, revealed a real schism between abortion and feminism.
How can feminism possibly preserve legal sanction for a practice
that discriminatorily eliminates females?
As long as we as a society provide legal sanction to the violent
destruction of babies of either gender simply because they fail to fulfill the
desires or plans of their parents, we will continue to deplete successive
generations at the rate of over one million human beings per year and expose
ourselves as among the most ruthless societies in history.
