I recently participated in a call with the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives. The White House provided the following highlights of that meeting:
- Department of Labor’s new Final Rule, “Implementing
Legal Requirements Regarding the Equal Opportunity Clause’s Religious
Exemption.” This rule will encourage the full and equal
participation of religious organizations as federal contractors.
- Secretary Scalia’s Religious
Liberty Directive and Guidance Regarding Federal Grants and Executive
Order 13798.
- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Efforts to End Labor
Trafficking National Online Dialogue. To participate, please visit EndTrafficking.IdeaScale.com.
The online dialogue is currently taking place through Dec. 14, 2020.
- The team also mentioned the EEOC is seeking public
input on its updated “Compliance
Manual section on Religious Discrimination.” Comments are welcome and
can be submitted HERE.
If you have any questions, would like to contact the Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives at the Department of Labor or would like to be added to their newsletter list, please email e-mail CFOI@DOL.Gov.
