The United States Senate is expected to move to the second minibus
(State/Foreign Operations, Energy and Water, Financial Services) on Thursday, November 10. The following amendments are expected to address pro-life issues:
- Mexico City Policy – Led by Senator Hatch, this amendment would strike the Lautenberg language that prevents future administrations from reinstating the Mexico City Policy.
- DC Hyde – Led by Senator Johanns, this amendment would restore the DC Hyde amendment and prevent taxpayer funding of abortions in the District of Columbia.
- UNFPA – Led by Senator Wicker, this amendment would defund UNFPA.
- FEHB – Led by Senator Coburn, this amendment would restore the ban on coverage of elective abortions in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program.
